Tankadere 3 Submission
So we finally got the green light from the Crabtank people to upload our submissions to their comic anthology, Tankadere 3 'Daring Dames'. This was my splash page illustration for the book.

work work work
Let's see:
Morning online storyboard class wasn't so bad- but it turns out that I've already missed one class and workshop so I somehow must find time to catch up on the videos, do the homework while I juggle helping my ma and aunt with their school projects and my own personal projects. GWAH D8
Had a sisterly bonding time of just sis making me sort through my old clothes that I still had since high school XD.
Then there was laundry to do and then a mad, angry rummaging of the room when I realized I couldn't find my FF5-6 game anywhere, which sucks cause I'm already getting bored just playing FF13 and want a different story.
Speaking of stories- finally hunkered down and started pondering over the plot bits of my old collab script with a friend-it's unfortunately gonna have to be rewritten again, but I hope it means simplifying stuff better but being easier to explain things away. @_@ Don't fail me now, storyboard story-making classes! Anyhoo, got so busy doing ma's work and this story pondering totaly missed my doodle dailies so here's my friend's characters the Palmer sisters.

Where does the time go!?
I'm beginning to wonder that out alot. It's like I wake up, do some chores, eat, check dailies, and then scan some stuff and work on helping ma out. 8|
Welp-where am I going to find time to just plonk down and grind hours for either tweaking comic stories or just the school's weekly animation exercises!?
The highlight of the day I guess is that my aunt spontaneously just called me and treated me out to a steak dinner- apparently my ma didn't like me not having anything to eat* while she and my sis where in SF so called my aunt to feed me. Oh well.
*By not having to eat meaning nothing readily available and cooked for me. Which isn't horrific since 1) tons of leftovers 2) I can cook, but ma is being ma, haha. She don't want none of her kiddies left out of anything when it comes to food.
Tomorrow's first online workshop class- 80 must try and wake up early!

WHOOPS
Apparently I already did a doodle today-which was like 12 am in the morning, and today I did two more because I didn't like how the first color scheme worked out. Oh bother. D8
Nothing special much happened today but I signed up for an online storyboard class and had to drop plans to join a comic anthology. 8| As much as I would have loved to have tried to be back of a published thing, I don't have the mindset to think about a whole new story/comic. I've got other projects to worry about.

Doodle of the day
I forgot to mention from the previous posts- I've been getting my palettes from this site. I think, while I'm still trying to sort my brain out, this should let me try and flex my creativity outside of my stories and aspirations and expectations just let me fiddle with colors.
Didn't do much today except do more school related stuff for ma and watch a butt load of documentaries like Modern Marvels of China's Great Wall, Las Vegas, Pompeii, and then a bit of Beethoven. It's nice binging on historical info, I just wish I knew how to implement this love for history into my art.

Nightsurfing doodle
Trying to get back to the whole doodle a day thing to get back to learning color composition.
The last days have been uneventful but been feeling more and more depressed over art skills and such, but after talking with a very good friend, the feeling eased up a bit.

Doctor Who, Risotto and old friend chats
Spent the morning watching/listening to Parks and Recreation, then the afternoon trying to watch a sluggishly laggy Doctor Who 11th doc (Matt Smith) ep 1 and 2 with my sis online. Stephen Moffat makes the coolest DW episodes.
Then tonight I made Chicken Mushroom and Broccoli Risotto. Glad it turned out alright and that my sis and ma loved it. :3
I even got to spend the day/night have a casual chat with an old friend I haven't spoken to in a while. It's great to hear she's doing well.
I really ought to be more socially active online ^^;

San Francisco and Good byes
Spent the whole day yesterday in San Francisco with family- we mostly just wandered between Powell and and Montgomery chilling and eating while my bro had an appointment to meet. At night we ate at Amici's and came back late at night, where I finally got to show my bro and dad this old kung fu flick called 'The Crippled Avengers'
Today was spent doing laundry and helping pa clean up the christmas lights and packing my school sketches and old artwork to ship back to the Philippines. Finally got the nerve to ask my old EfN opponents if they wanted the originals of my watercolor work, and they've said yes. |D; so that'll be one project to work on. My pa flew back earlier this evening, and my bro will be heading back to Santa Barbara tomorrow morning. Sad.
I've started work on an exercise my old Character Design teacher gave to his fall sem students, but for the sake of 1 pic a day promise, I just doodled this Spider-man thing so I meet my quota.

Update on stuff
Bleh. I only seem to be 'artistically motivated' between the 1-2 am window; in which my brain is too bloody tired to be self defeating and cynical and whatnot so when that happens I can draw in peace.
Which pretty much stinks. It's essentially what I also do in previous semesters of work: I end up working on the last minute because I waste most of the time worrying and fidgeting until the final point, in which case my left brain gives up on me, telling me 'FORGET THIS- at this point ANYTHING is better than NOTHING' and then my mind is just free to do it's thing.
Apart from that, I've spent Saturday exploring the Exploratorium with my siblings and having a sushi dinner, and today I've had lunch with relatives and got stuffed eating more sushi. Delicious.

Failed Scanning of Old Art
Tonight, as part of my attempts to organize and declutter my art stuff before summer really starts for me (aka playing games and drawing projects 24/7), I thought I'd start off by finally getting around to scanning my old works (pre 2007) in this filing bin that I have as a way to preserve the ongoing learning curve that I have gone through. Results were, not so good.
I guess I've hit another milestone as an artist when I've gone from looking fondly at old stuff with sweet nostalgia to suddenly wanting to kill it all with fire but instead burying it under a flowerbed garden in the hopes that over time something will grow and cover the stench of its level of drawing and storytelling skills. Note that the drawings themselves are not horrendous and would hardly cause anything close to a massive eye bleed to the passing random stranger. But I think it's the memories of seeing a younger me, drawing the stuff that I did, thinking all my skills and ideas at the time were the most awesome thing since sliced bread that's just horrifying me at the moment.
Strange that I find myself so horrified at the thought of seeing my old works come to light yet I would want to record and upload as much of my past as I could.
